Posterior medial frontal cortex disability linked to                                 atheism
Atheist hold the view that theists are "stupid" while theists hold the opposite view. One of it is not mere belief but now an established fact. Researchers from University of Newyork  and investigators from University of  California-Los Angeles (UCLA) conducted research and concluded that inactivity of frontal cortex resulted in disbelief of supernatural being and reduced prejudice of immigrants.
What is ultimate  function of medial frontal cortex?
To detect and solve problems, says  Dr. Keise Izuma, of the Department of Psychology at the  University of York.

Dr.Izuma aimed to find relation between problem-solving brain area and ideology.

39 students were selected. 2 groups were made, one who were given sham treatment which had no effect on medial prefrontal cortex and other group was given Transcranial magnetic stimulation which temporal disabled cortex.

Study reported 32.8% decrease in belief of supernatural beings of group that undergo TMS.

"As expected, we found that when we experimentally turned down the posterior medial frontal cortex, people were less inclined to reach for comforting religious ideas despite having been reminded of death,"

"When we disrupted the brain region that usually helps detect and respond to threats, we saw a less negative, less ideologically motivated reaction to the critical author and his opinions", explains Dr. Izuma.

Hence, it is concluded that inactivity of posterior medial frontal cortex result in disbelief of supernatural beings.
